History
Founded in 1985, the National Ability Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Programs are supported through special event fundraisers, grants from private corporations and foundations, individual donations, and program fees. All activities are offered at an affordable rate, and no one is denied participation due to inability to pay. The Center's philosophy is based on the fundamental belief that recreation is as vital to the lives of people with disabilities as it is to people without disabilities -- representing a sound and practical investment in all individuals.
