Sled Hockey is a Paralympic sport allowing people with physical disabilities affecting lower limbs to use sleds to move around the ice. Other than this adaptation, the rules are very similar to able-bodied hockey games. It is a high energy, rowdy and incredibly fast paced game.

The National Ability Center adopted the Utah Grizzlies Sled Hockey team in the spring of 2005. Now known as the National Ability Center Golden Eagles, the team is continually looking for new players interested in learning more about the sport and playing in local and regional competitions. Two members of the National Ability Center's Sled Hockey Team have won spots onto the U.S. Disabled Junior National Team, and one member was named to the U.S. Development team after playing with the Eagles for only seven months!
The Sled Hockey team meets at the Park City Ice Arena for practice two times a week just below the National Ability Center’s Ranch. The NAC hosted the 3rd annual Great Salt Cup Sled Hockey Tournament during March, 2008. In the first three years of the tournament, teams have come from New England, Colorado, New Hampshire, Arizona, Illinois, Texas, and California.
The Golden Eagles are also part of the Western Sled Hockey League and took home the championship in the inaugural WSHL season. The team finished its first season undefeated after playing in a round robin in the other team's cities.
After going undefeated in the Western Sled Hockey League, the Golden Eagles went to Massachusetts and took second place in one of the biggest sled hockey tournaments in the country. The team suffered its only losses of the season to New Hampshire, and finished the year with a record of 18-2-2.
