WHEELCHAIR RUGBY

Program Information

Wheelchair rugby is one of the fastest-growing wheelchair sports worldwide with nearly 50 organized competitive teams in the United States and 20 international teams.

The game consists of two teams, of four players each, on the court at a time. Players pass a volleyball back and forth while advancing into the opposing team's half of the court while trying to score a goal by crossing the goal line.

The National Ability Center has special wheelchairs that make the aggressive nature of the sport reasonable with wide waist belts and steel bumpers. If you have never given it a try, consider signing up! It's a great sport to play with a family member or a friend.
