Michael Ferrin
Alpine Ski Team
Your path to the National Ability Center:
Michael grew up in the mountains and began skiing as soon as he was old enough to walk. Michael’s childhood was defined by sports and outdoor recreation up until his diagnosis of Scleroderma – a rare autoimmune disorder – forced him to stop all physical activity. The next 10+ years became a long and painful journey to try and regain the active lifestyle he once had. In 2020 Michael tried on ski boots for the first time in over a decade, and, thanks to NAC, was introduced to adaptive ski racing.
