PATH TO THE #ADAPTIVENATION:
I was initially inspired through meeting an adaptive athlete who motivated me to chase a goal that was parallel to my athletic dreams before my cancer diagnosis. From skateboarding to snowboarding, I did research and goal setting: To move from St. Louis, MO to Park City, UT to learn to snowboard and compete for Team USA. I worked two jobs, and started a GoFund me page to support this dream and goal. After a little over 6 months, I had the support from my local community and money saved to pursue my goal. I moved to Park City to train with the NAC at the age of 19. By 20, my goal had been reached– I made Team USA and qualified for not only the National team, but also for the 2018 Paralympic team. With 1.5 years of snowboarding experience I competed at the 2018 Paralympic games and won two medals for the USA: 1 Gold / 1 Bronze. Now, I am 21 and setting more goals and pursuing my dreams.
