Jay Barney

Jay Barney is a Presidential Professor of Strategic Management, holds the Lassonde Chair of Social Entrepreneurship, and is the Co-Academic Director of the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity at the Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. His research and teaching focuses mostly on strategic management and on how firms are able to gain and sustain competitive advantages. He has used this work to consult with over fifty clients in the for profit and not-for-profit sectors in the US and Europe. He also served on and worked closely with boards of directors in developing and implementing their corporate strategies. In addition, Jay has worked with over 30 entrepreneurial companies in Bolivia, Peru, Ghana, and in other developing economies to help them improve their operations and performance. Jay began his association with the NAC when one of his grandsons participated in a NAC snowboarding program.
