Stephani Victor

Stephani first became involved with the NAC in 1999 as a participant. She had her first lesson (ever) in a mono-ski at the NAC with Marcel Kuonen, the NAC’s adaptive head coach.  She went on to become a Paralympic Gold Medalist and eventually to also marry Marcel. Stephani shares that from her first adaptive ski lesson, to joining the US Paralympic team and competing in 5 Paralympic games the NAC has been her (and her husband’s) home – not only for training, but most importantly for community. Now, as a Board member, she hopes to give back and serve with those are dedicated to positively empowering person’s with disabilities to find independence, self-esteem, JOY and productivity through adaptive sport and recreation. Stephani believes every person has the fundamental right to nature, independence and sport/recreation. She says that “without access and opportunity too many people are left on the sidelines.”
