Petty
Palomino Quarter Horse
Meet Petty, our seasoned 18-year-old Palomino Quarter Horse with roots that trace back to the sunny landscapes of Mexico. Known affectionately as Perico in his younger days—Spanish for “Parakeet,” due to his beak-shaped face—Petty’s charming quirks are as unique as his backstory. He spent his early life with the family of one of our equestrian instructors, becoming a beloved teacher to all the children in the family and guiding them through their first years of riding.
Petty’s name change from “Perico” to “Petty” reflects his enduring legacy and the affection with which he’s regarded. At the NAC, Petty continues to share his gentle wisdom, teaching new generations of riders with the same patience and grace that has defined his long and nurturing career. He’s more than just a horse; he’s a treasured educator and a living bridge between past and present riders.
We invite you to stand alongside our incredible sponsors who support our horses’ well-being. As they say, it takes a village, and we’re delighted to welcome you to the community!
