Important Information – Rafting
Please review the following policies and notices PRIOR to registering for your rafting program. YOU are our most important partner in making this summer a success!

In order to participate, we require that you :

- Are free of any current symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss sense of smell or taste, sore throat, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea)
- Are not currently positive for COVID-19 or waiting on COVID-19 test results.
- Have not been in close contact with anyone, or have anyone in your household, who has tested positive for COVID-19 or exhibited fever, cough, or shortness of breath in the past 14 days.
- Not be currently under quarantine as directed by a health professional, school or other organization (such as an employer or sports team)
RESCHEDULiNG & REFUNDS
Please reschedule if you are experiencing cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, have tested positive, have been around anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days, or have been instructed to quarantine by a public health official, school or other organization (such as an employer or sports team).

- If you test positive for Covid-19 within 48 hours of participating, we require that you alert the NAC.
- All participants and volunteer will undergo a health screening at the meeting location on their first day.
- All participants, staff and volunteers will undergo a health screening prior to breakfast each morning of programming.
- Each household will be assigned a raft and a guide ensuring separate households are not to be mixed in a raft (brief exceptions may be made to maintain safety in the event of an out-of-boat incident. )

FACE Coverings / MASKS

- A double-layer mask or face covering must be worn by all participants, caregivers and guides at the following times:

- While greeting
- While in an NAC vehicle
- At the boat ramps
- While boarding a raft
- At any beaches stopped at during programming, unless swimming (which is permitted only when boats are pulled up onto the bank.)

- In addition, guides are required to wear a face covering around their neck while on the raft and to pull their face covering over their nose and mouth should they come within 6 feet of a participant.
- A double-layer mask or face covering must be worn by all participants, caregivers and guides at the following times:

- Please bring at least 2 face coverings per individual for a day trip or 3 face coverings for an overnight trip.
- You will receive a plastic bag at the put-in labeled with your name to keep your mask in while not in use.
- Additional face coverings and KN95’s will be stocked in each raft.

HAND WASHING / SANITIZING

- Hand washing or hand sanitizing will be mandatory at the following times:
- Upon arrival at camp – The hand wash station will be the first thing set up when arriving at camp and the last thing to be packed up.
- At lunch – The hand wash station will be the first thing set up when arriving at lunch and the last thing to be packed up when leaving lunch.
- Before and after each activity (i.e. eating, bathroom use, cooking, touching a personal item, transferring etc)
- Hand Sanitizer will be available at each hand wash station and readily available on each raft.
- Hand washing or hand sanitizing will be mandatory at the following times:

FOOD, CAMP & FloaTation

- Staff will wear face coverings, wash hands, and use gloves for all food prep, cooking, and serving.
- No communal snacks will be offered on the raft. Only single serve snacks.
- Chairs at camp will be set up in pods for each household, ensuring there is at least 6 feet between pods.
- Each household and staff will use different color drybags.
- Sleeping bags will be laundered after use and rotated through quarantine before being reused.
- Participants will leave their Personal Floatation Device(PFD) in the raft assigned to them so as to easily identify it.
- PFD’s and dry bags will be washed in a 2-bucket soap and rinse system and left outside to dry then rotated through quarantine before being reused

Come Prepared
Our rafting programs take place in wilderness settings requiring all participants, staff and volunteers must abide by NAC health and safety policies. Dive into the knitty gritty ahead of time so you aren’t caught off guard.
