With numerous expansion projects in progress, leading adaptive non-profit promotes a number of staff members and develops new department to meet demand
PARK CITY, UTAH (July 31, 2019) – The National Ability Center announced today that multiple staff members were promoted within the organization to better fulfill the organization’s refreshed strategic plan under the new executive leadership of Kevin Stickelman. With robust programming and facilities, the NAC is set to reach larger audiences including individuals with physical disabilities, active-duty military, veterans and more with the support of these roles and departments.
“As we continue to extend our reach in Utah and across the country, it’s motivating to know that the NAC has had the opportunity to develop and promote staff from within for these critical responsibilities,” said Kevin Stickelman, CEO of the National Ability Center. “In my time as CEO, first in the interim capacity and now permanently, I’ve worked with my team to create a work environment that reflects our mission and values, while cultivating opportunities for innovation and community building to not just forge ahead as a local recreational resource, but a global destination for the adaptive nation.”
After officially appointing Kevin Stickelman as CEO in April, the NAC continues to execute the development and amplification plans outlined in its multi-year “I Can” Capital Campaign. The new and improved Equestrian Center construction is slated to be completed in the coming months, along with exciting additions to outdoor programming including a Discovery Loop surrounding the NAC campus. Other fundamental features, such as a campground with additional cabins, yurts and a sensory garden, will help to facilitate the world-class training and activities that the NAC offers year-round.
“With the persistent growth and increased awareness of the National Ability Center, it is important to expand our internal team with members that have devoted so much of their time to helping us achieve our mission of providing adventure and recreational programming for people of all abilities, not just in the Park City area, but across the country and around the globe,” said Brad Petersen, President of the NAC Board of Directors.
As a result of their exemplary performance and dedication to the overall mission of building the adaptive nation the following individuals have been promoted: Katie Hobert, Vice President of Operations; Whitney Thompson, Senior Manager, Marketing; Dallas Green, Facilities Manager; Katie Hogan, Senior Manager, Development. Tony Carestia is joining the NAC as Finance Director. Michael Morgan was also hired as Culinary Development Manager, allowing for the NAC to provide in-house food service to groups, partners and select events for the first time. Along with the creation of the culinary team, the NAC has appointed Jon Serio, former Facilities & Capital Director as Construction Manager, Serio will oversee all onsite construction in Park City and Moab, which include inaugural facilities like the Recreation Center, Mountain Center and a community and program building.
