World-class adaptive recreation and outdoor adventure operator sets sights on a successful 2021
PARK CITY, UTAH (Oct. 28, 2020) – After five years with the National Ability Center, including two as CEO, Kevin Stickelman has decided to pursue a new opportunity in the ski industry at Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado. Viewing this transition as an opportunity to bring new leadership to support future ambitions and continued sustainability, the NAC remains focused on the critical support it provides to over 7,000 veterans, children and individuals with disabilities and their families annually.
“2020 has been a year of change, but also of reflection. During this unprecedented period, we’ve lived true to our mission of adapting our programs, providing support wherever needed,” said Bob Chamberlain, President of the NAC Board of Directors. “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Kevin for his contributions. We are proud of the knowledge and experience in adaptive recreation that he will bring to Colorado and know he will keep spreading our mission of advocating for people with disabilities in the ski industry and beyond. The board is confident the leadership team will provide seamless support to our community and is committed to helping the staff and volunteers during this transition.”
“I am excited to be part of the process of identifying the next leader for the NAC,” said Meeche White, founder of the NAC who is serving on the Search Committee. “We are looking forward to a new year with a fresh perspective to continue providing services to the people that need them, now more than ever. The NAC was started to meet a demand in the community and as the needs evolve, we will continue to grow and change with them. I believe the community witnessed our unshakeable foundation of perseverance in 2020, and we are looking forward to 2021 and the new ideas the next leader will bring to our team that’s already proven their ability to adapt.”
Currently, the NAC’s number one priority remains focused on the health and safety of its community while also offering a variety of programming with modifications in order to meet the community’s needs to get outdoors and stay active.
