8th Annual luncheon offers distinguished members of Armed Forces and their families continued community support
Park City, Utah (Oct. 9, 2018) –Honoring the courageous and heroic active duty and veteran members of the U.S. military and their families, the National Ability Center(NAC), a leading organization dedicated to empowering individuals of differing abilities will host its 8th annual “Saluting Our Heroes” luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The luncheon promotes the robust resources and programs that the National Ability Center is devoted to providing service members and veterans impacted while serving our country.
“This event allows us to express our deepest gratitude and pay tribute to our armed forces and all of those who have so selflessly fought for our country and our freedom,” said Kevin Stickelman, Interim CEO of the National Ability Center. “Our military and veteran programs have grown over our more than 30-year history to help approximately 1,350 individuals annually. The National Ability Center is able to provide everything from personalized lessons to seven-day retreats only because of the support of families, partners, donors, staff and volunteers. Two out of three of our top populations served include active duty and injured military and veterans further demonstrating the importance of our current offerings and the need for additional opportunities.”

The highly-anticipated luncheon supports the sustainability and advancement of military programming available at the National Ability Center.
This year’s keynote speaker is decorated, Purple Heart war hero Lieutenant Colonel Tres Smith, U.S. Marine Corps (retired). Lt. Col. Smith has a direct personal connection to the nonprofit after suffering six bullet wounds during his service and is committed to building the adaptive nation. Following his recovery, he returned to combat in Afghanistan and other countries. Recently retired from his role in the Pentagon as an active Marine, Lt. Col. Smith began a position with the Federal Aviation Administration in 2018. Major Peter Way of the United States Army (retired) will join this year’s production as the participant speaker.
