Type of stand ski equipment that resembles poles with skis at the base. Outriggers are used to assist in balancing, turning, stopping and loading/ unloading the lift for stand skiers. The outriggers can be adjusted for skier’s height and ability level to provide an effective base of support while skiing. Generally, outriggers benefit skiers that have diagnoses which affect balance, strength & endurance in one or both legs. Skiers with any of the following may benefit from the use of stand riggers: amputations, cerebrovascular accident, incomplete spinal cord injury, hemiplegia, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, polio survivor, post-polio syndrome, spina bifida or other orthopedic diagnoses. *Please contact us if you have questions about this rig being a good fit for you.
