Scholarships may be available!  We believe that finances should not get in the way of participating in our programs. It’s through the generosity of our donors that enable scholarship opportunities. Here’s how to apply for Scholarship through the program registration portal:

  1. Log in or create an account.
  2. Find a program and add it to your cart; check out of cart and select “Apply for Scholarship”.
  3. Complete the checkout process and you’ll receive a confirmation email.

Common Questions

What To Expect: Helmets will be available to borrow, but Participants may bring their own ASTM-SEI approved equestrian helmet no older than 5 years from manufacture. We have saddles and other equipment fitted and maintained for each horse. Participants may not bring their own saddle.

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. Please be sure to dress for the weather – Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. Appropriate riding attire must be worn when working with the horses: long pants (no holes), boots or hard soled shoes (no Crocs, Keens, ballet flats or Uggs), sleeved shirts and proper headgear. Long hair must be tied back.

Equestrian Policies: All people while on horseback at the NAC must wear properly fitted and secured ASTM-SEI approved helmets.

What Is Included: Bows, arrows, arm guards, and adaptive equipment.

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if available but must pass safety inspection before use in program. Closed toed shoes only (no Keens or flip flops). Long hair must be tied back.

What to Expect: All camp registration requests will be reviewed by our camp supervisors. Campers are allotted to register for up to two camps then will be placed on the waitlist for any additional desired camps. The camp supervisors will be in touch to confirm your camp registration status. Once approved for camp, campers are contacted by our camp team two weeks prior with a camp itinerary and a packing list. Please refer to that communication for camp details. Day Camps:

What Is Included: Equipment for each program the camp will attend including helmet.

What To Bring: Each day bring a water bottle, sunscreen, snacks, lunch, closed toed shoes, and clothing appropriate for outdoor activities. Please label all camper items with camper’s name. A detailed packing list will be included thru email two weeks prior to camp.

Overnight camps:

What Is Included: Meals, lodging, and equipment for each program the camp will attend including helmet.

What To Bring: Detailed packing list to be provided 2 weeks prior to the start of camp.

What Is Included: Helmet, full-body harness & adaptive equipment.

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. It is recommended to wear athletic clothing (long pants or shorts that are below fingertip length) for comfort while wearing a harness. Please be sure to dress for the weather! Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. Closed toed shoes only (no Keens, sandals or flip flops). Long hair must be tied back.

Challenge Course Policies: A helmet must be worn at all times while on the course and when underneath the course on the ground. Only NAC gear can be used on the challenge course. Participants cannot bring and use their own harness, helmet, belay equipment, etc.

Indoor Climbing

What Is Included: Harness & Adaptive Equipment

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own harness if available but must pass safety inspection before use in program. Long hair must be tied back while climbing on the wall. It is recommended to wear athletic clothing (long pants or shorts that are below fingertip length) for comfort while wearing a harness.

Climbing Policies: Closed toe shoes are required while climbing. Participants cannot bring and use their own belay equipment.

Outdoor Climbing

What Is Included: All climbing equipment.

What To Bring: Sunglasses, water bottle, snacks, backpack, hat with a brim for sun protection, and sunscreen. Long hair must be tied back while climbing. It is recommended to wear athletic clothing (long pants or shorts that are below fingertip length) for comfort while wearing a harness. Please be sure to dress for the weather! Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. Closed toed shoes only (no Keens, sandals or flip flops).

Climbing Polices: Please feel free to utilize your own climbing shoes & chalk bag, if you have them. If you have your own harness it must pass a safety inspection by NAC staff before use. Participants cannot bring and use their own belay equipment.

What Is Included: Team instruction & participant lift ticket. Rental equipment is not provided. You are responsible for your own skis or snowboard.

What To Bring: Helmets are required. We strongly recommend that each participant purchase their own helmet. Helmets will be available for those unable to bring their own. Please be sure to dress for cold the weather! (jackets, midlayers, pants, gloves and eyewear are highly recommended) Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. The NAC will not provide goggles, gloves or any addition ski gear. Always bring your our own water bottle and sunscreen.

What Is Included: Bike, Helmet*, & Adaptive Equipment. *It is highly encouraged that participants come with their own bike helmet. We recommend visiting Backcountry.com for a variety of helmet options for purchase.

Cycling | Mt. Biking | Fat Tire Biking Policies: Participants must wear an ASTM-2040/CPSC 1203* approved helmet and closed toe shoes must be worn when riding – no flip flops or keen sandals allowed. *A certification label from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC 1203) or American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM-2040) means that the helmet has been tested and meets federation safety standards for consumers in North America.

What To Expect: The Equine Assisted Learning program is a non-riding program. All activities are performed on foot. Helmets must be worn by all minor participants at all times when in the barn or arena working with or around the horses.

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. Please be sure to dress for the weather – Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. What Is Included: Classic, Skate or Sit Ski, Boots, Poles

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. Please be sure to dress for cold weather! Appropriate outdoor clothing and layering is required. Jackets, mid-layers, pants, gloves; eyewear and headwear are highly recommended. Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly. Long hair must be tied back.

What Is Included: Kayak, canoe, or stand up paddle board (SUP) and adaptive equipment. A US Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD) will be provided.

What To Bring: Please be sure to dress for the weather! Wear your swimsuit and pack along extra layers, as the weather can change abruptly. Always bring your own towel, full water bottle, and sun protection. There are primitive restrooms on site to use if needed.

Paddle Sports Policies: Shoes must be worn at all times while on land. A properly fitted and fully buckled PFD must be worn at all times while on the water. Participants who have had a seizure in the last year and who have seizures that are uncontrolled by medication must wear a Type 1 PFD.

What Is Included: Paddles & Ball

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks. Closed toe shoes are required & long hair should be tied back.

We Provide: Raft guides, rafting equipment, well balanced meal(s), plenty of water, snacks, one small dry bag per boat for inexpensive items, & a large dry bag for overnight participants.

What To Expect: A rafting specialist will email specific details (directions, exact meeting time, what to bring/wear etc.) 3 weeks prior to your trip. They will provide you with directions, meeting time, what to bring/wear and be available to answer any questions.

What to Bring: Bathing suit/swim trunks, A t-shirt and shorts to wear over your bathing suit, Sunglasses, Hat, Shoes that attach around the ankle and can get wet (no flip-flops) – Old sneakers work well. Water bottle, sunscreen, relevant medications you may need while on the water (inhalers, etc.). See email that comes 3 weeks prior for complete overnight packing list.

Do not Bring: Alcohol, expensive electronics, expensive or important jewelry.

VIEW RAFTING TRIPS

What Is Included: All lessons will include applicable ADAPTIVE equipment pertinent to individual needs (e.g. Mono Ski, Bi Ski, Ski Bike, Snow Slider, Hand Held Riggers, Kart Ski).  Individual lessons will provide students with 1:1 instruction.  Group lessons may have a ratio of 1:4 where appropriate.  Please note SKI/SB RENTALS are not provided for programming.  *Please see a list of recommended rental options. Loaner helmets are available for all participants, but it is strongly recommended for participants with repeat lessons to purchase their own helmet. (Please see HELMET Recommendations)

What To Bring: Weather in the Wasatch Back is variable and can range with temperatures well below zero to above 45 degrees during our operating season.  It is STRONGLY recommended that participants be prepared to wear or pack the following: synthetic base or mid layers, windproof/waterproof jacket and pants as well as gloves and proper eyewear (googles or sunglasses).  Helmets are required for all participants.  Participants should also plan to bring their own water bottle and sunscreen.

Lift Tickets: Participants with lessons based at Park City Mountain Village or Canyons Village are eligible for a full-day lift ticket and buddy ticket.  The buddy ticket is intended for a family member, care giver or friend, who can ski/ride independently along with the participant.  Buddy tickets are a benefit granted by our resort partners to promote positive recreational experiences for participants.  Any abuse of this benefit will result in a loss of this privilege.

Rentals: The NAC does not provide SKI/SB rentals for participants.  Participants can arrange rentals with dozens of businesses in Park City, with the majority offering a discount for reserving online. Some of our favorites are: Jan’s Sports, Cole Sport, Switchback Sports, Aloha, Utah Ski and Golf, and Jackson’s Base Camp.

Helmet Recommendations:  Skiing and snowboarding implies inherent risk, which all participants must be aware of.  As such, helmets used in programming should be appropriate for the activity, fit properly and certified accordingly.  The NAC has loaner helmets available for all participants.  For participants wishing to purchase their own helmet we recommend a Ski/SB helmet designed and certified for snow-sport use.

Parking: Park City has a great FREE public transit program, but for those who prefer to drive please be aware of the following:

Reservations are required at Park City Mountain Village.  Participants need to create an account at https://www.parkatparkcitymountain.com/parkmountainvillage. Daily parking rates range from $25-40 unless you have an ADA tag or carpool (4 or more persons per vehicle).  Parking is free at Canyons Village. In addition, participants may park at any one of the designated park and ride locations around Park City and utilize free public transit to the Park City Mountain Village Base.

Off Site Locations:

Canyons Village: Participants utilizing Canyons Village will meet their instructor at the main base.  Instructors will be present in their orange NAC jackets and stage between the main base kiosk and the ski school building.  This is adjacent to the Red Pine Gondola.  Participants may request their instructor give them a courtesy call once they arrive at the base to further coordinate the meeting place.

Deer Valley:  Participants utilizing Deer Valley will meet their instructor at the Snow Park Base near the Stein Erikson Statue.  Instructors will be present in their orange NAC jackets and will plan to meet at this designated location, unless requested otherwise. Meeting at locations beyond the Snow Park Base will result in a delayed start time. This will not extend the lesson time.  Participants may request their instructor give them a courtesy call once they arrive at the base to further coordinate the meeting place.

Brighton:  Participants utilizing Brighton Ski Resort at the main base in front of the Brighton Center.  Instructors will be present in their orange NAC jackets and position themselves in a visible location.  Participants may request their instructor give them a courtesy call once they arrive at the base to further coordinate the meeting place.

Solitude: Participants utilizing Solitude Mountain Resort will meet their instructor at the main base in front of the Moonbeam Lodge.  Instructors will be present in their orange NAC jackets and stage themselves in a visible location in front of the Moonbeam lodge.  Participants may request their instructor give them a courtesy call once they arrive at the base to further coordinate the meeting place.

What Is Included: Snowshoes & Poles

What To Bring: Your own water bottle, as well as snacks and sun protection. Please be sure to dress for cold weather! Appropriate outdoor clothing and layering is required. (jackets, mid-layers, pants, boots, gloves; eyewear and headwear are highly recommended. Either dress in layers or pack them along, as the weather can change abruptly.

What Is Included: Wake board, water ski, slalom ski, sit ski, and adaptive equipment. A US Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD) will be provided. A limited number of we suits and wet suit tops are available for use upon request.

What To Bring: Please be sure to dress for the weather! Wear your swimsuit and pack along extra layers, as the weather can change abruptly. Always bring your own towel, full water bottle, and sun protection. There are primitive restrooms on site to use if needed and if you chose to bring dry clothes to change into afterward.

Paddle Sports Policies: Shoes must be worn at all times while on land. A properly fitted and fully buckled PFD must be worn at all times while on the water. Participants who have had a seizure in the last year and who have seizures that are uncontrolled by medication must wear a Type 1 PFD. Participants must be able to turn themselves from face down to face up position in water independently, while wearing a Type IV or Type I PFD. Minors (17 and under) must wear a properly fitted and fully buckled PFD at all times once on the dock and in the boat. Adults (18 and older) must have a PFD on or next to them.
