A Place to Grow
The National Ability Center is an extraordinary place where individuals are invited to transcend boundaries and push past limits they never thought possible!
Home to wild yet welcoming Utah, you can visit us at our 26-acre ranch in Park City or our McGrath Mountain Center at the foot of Park City Mountain Resort – conveniently located only 40 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport. We also offer rafting adventures from our basecamp in Moab and camping excursions from outposts strategically situated in the state. Come play in our backyard, where you’ll experience unique, life-changing opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the surrounding rivers, mountains, and trails.
Equestrian Center
The Pat Moran Family Foundation Equestrian Center is a state-of-the-art facility built in 2019, providing accessible event, conference, and meeting space, as well as our equestrian programs and offices—step inside the adjoining Peery Scowcroft Arena to view our diverse herd of horses.
Our entire equestrian facility comprises six beautiful pastures, eleven stalls, a tack room, and indoor and outdoor riding arenas where our adaptive horseback riding and Equine Assisted Learning and Therapy programs take place.
Mountain Center
In the mid-80s, the National Ability Center started the first adaptive ski program at the base of Park City Mountain. After a decade of dreaming and planning, we built the McGrath Mountain Center, a new home to accommodate adaptive ski and snowboard program participants, their families, our staff, and seasonal volunteers.
We are incredibly grateful to Vail Resorts and Park City Mountain for donating the land for this state-of-the-art facility. The 9,400-sq/ft ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible building will provide a home base for the National Ability Center’s adaptive ski/snowboard programs and other year-round adaptive programming.
The Hub
Welcome to The Hub Recreation Center! Located at the heart of our Park City Ranch location, The Hub is our largest indoor recreation, meeting, and event space. It can accommodate a variety of activities, from team building and active experiences to audio-visually-equipped conferences and gatherings.
Built In 2020/21, The Hub’s large overhead garage-style doors and spacious floor plan enable well-ventilated gatherings with a bit of shelter while your group stays connected to the great outdoors.
The Lodge
Stay with the National Ability Center, steps from all our ranch-based programs, plus Round Valley’s extensive single- and double-track, year-round trail system. We’ll help you build a custom stay with adaptive programming for your family, group, or organization.
We welcome anyone participating in National Ability Center programs or other mission-aligned organizations to our Lodge. Our rates are highly affordable compared to area market rates, and scholarship applications are being accepted that could help offset travel expenses for those needing financial assistance.
Camp Oakley
Explore Camp Oakley, a National Ability Center partner facility with accessible camping and outdoor activities. Spend the night in a yurt or tent and awake to the beauty of northern Utah’s signature mountains and reservoirs. From fishing and paddle boarding to outdoor games and cookouts, our trained staff will ensure an adaptive camping experience you won’t soon forget.
This facility is “glamping” made accessible. And it’s all just a short drive from the National Ability Center ranch in Park City, Utah. Camp Oakley’s yurts are outfitted with comfortable kitchens with running water, refrigeration, and microwave reheating.
Moab Outpost
Join us for an adventure in southern Utah! Since the 1970s, the National Ability Center, formerly Splore, has run adaptive rafting trips on Moab’s Green and Colorado rivers. Our Moab office and boathouse are home to our rafting and mountain bike programs, camping, outdoor climbing, and accessible Utah National Parks adventures.
For rafting, we meet at river put-ins and shuttle locations. Please check your confirmation email for your specific trip meet-up location.
